A lot happened during the first day of Eddie Savage Jr.'s trial on charges including first-degree murder. The charges date back to a July 7 incident outside the Foskey Lane home where Savage lived just outside the Delmar town limits.
A jury was chosen, opening statements were made, and several witnesses testified, including the suspect's ex-girlfriend, who is married to the son of the man who was killed, Kenneth Sparks, and the son, who is Joshua Sparks. Law enforcement officers also testified about responding to the scene and their roles.
